Our Mission
The Cheval Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity equestrian youth non-profit organization. Our mission is to afford local youth the opportunity to participate in equestrian sports and activities through quality, low cost horsemanship and sportsmanship programs.
Our Vision
Our vision is to promote interest and attainability in fostering youth equestrianism.
Sportsmanship
We believe that structured equestrian sports programs enable riders to gain skills in and out of the show ring. With proper leadership, the horse becomes an invaluable teammate, a patient teacher, and a trusted companion. We seek to develop character and life skills in youth participants through their interaction with horses in our sportsmanship programs and activities. Because horses are living animals unlike a soccer ball or a pair of ballet shoes, the cost of equestrian sports can be cost prohibited for many families. Our desire is to make equestrian sports and activities as financially obtainable as other youth sports programs.
Horsemanship
Youth in our riding program are part of The Cheval Saddle Club. The club is an affiliate of the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeder Association (ASHBA) Youth Clubs, and is a place for youth to learn about horses, the American Saddlebred breed, learn through demonstrations, guest speakers and clinics, attend field trips, have social gatherings, compete in youth and equine events, and receive recognition and awards for levels of achievement. Membership also provides the opportunity to participate in all the national level ASHBA youth programs as well as other horse-related adventures.
